Ports Development Company (PDC), is the owner and developer of King Abdullah Port, the first ‘privately’ owned and funded port facility of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.
Established in 2010, PDC is a joint venture between Emaar the Economic City and Huta Marine Works Ltd., two of the largest developers and marine construction and diversified conglomerates of the Middle East.
Ports Development Company represents a strong shareholder base with extensive expertise and capabilities in construction, infrastructure development, specialized marine services, logistical facilities & services and port operations.
Ports Development Company owns the exclusive rights to develop, finance, build and operate King Abdullah Port, one of the most advanced port facilities of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region. The company also holds the rights to grant concessions via the Economic Cities Authority.
The Port is still under construction, but started partial operations in January 2014 for transshipment, import and export of containers. It is the first privately owned port in the region and will be among the 10 largest ports in the world.
