Situated only 100 kilometers from Jeddah, the second-largest city in Saudi Arabia, the port is accessed via highway 303, and lies in close proximity to the excellent No.5 motorway between Jeddah and Yanbu. It is one of largest deep-water ports on the Red Sea, and is geographically the closest port to the Suez Canal with access to the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean.
King Abdullah Port is a dynamic integrated business entity that enjoys a prime, strategic location. It is considered to be a complementary module between the private and government sectors.
The port is designed to handle 20 million containers, 1.5 million vehicles, and 15 million tons of bulk and general cargo shipping. It has a depth of 18meters, and features 30 operational deep-water berths equipped with some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated ship-to-shore cranes, allowing for high intensity operations and first-rate operational performance.
